Institute for Peace and Democracy (IPD) was established in 2008. The IPD is headquartered at Udayana University in Bali.
IPD is a learning community which promotes the free exchange of ideas and works in partnership with national governments and their representative institutions, civil society organizations, higher education institutions, think-tanks, and media.
IPD shares experiences, lessons learned, practical knowledge and skills on peace and democracy in the Asia-Pacific and other regions through workshops, dialogues, round-table discussions, training, election visits, research and publications. IPD strongly believes in freedom, equality and accountability, while retaining a sense of strategic purpose and a focus on home-grown, contextualized processes of democracy.
